Branding Makes or Breaks Your Curls

During these past two months, I have realized how important branding is. Geeky, your brand will not flourish if your branding for your company is not taken seriously. You almost have to think about your company and its branding as a person and the clothes that they wear, hobbies, personality, etc. It is essentially what makes your brand— your brand. The way I have noticed the difference in products after my “marketing brain” has been turned on is unreal. I have now truly stepped into the art of being a marketer and the ideas flow through my mind so swiftly when shopping in-store or online. The brands that I come across on social media either have a good strong presence or a faulty one.

In my endeavors, I have implemented branding to an extreme. I post on my TikTok account about all things curly hair. Hairstyles, product reviews, advice, and so much more. Since I am the face of my social media platforms, I am essentially my brand. What I wear, say, do, and share will affect the branding of my accounts. So, I have instilled a brand toolkit that I use for myself to ensure that I am staying on track with presenting myself on the screens of my 17,000 followers. There are creators that I follow that have instilled the same concept of branding yourself and they have had an amazing career thus far.

Branding is more than just the visual aspects of a company or person. It is who they are and what their purpose is. As a marketer, company, and creator, you need to know that you are telling a story with your content and to connect with your audience. Now, I fully understand the emphasis of how important branding is to all businesses worldwide. By staying consistent and authentic, companies can establish a strong presence that builds a strong community and will continue to flourish.
